BUXTON — The community is mourning the loss of a Bonny Eagle High School student after a tragic car crash early Thursday morning.
Sixteen-year-old Angel Greene died at the scene of a single-vehicle crash around 1:30 a.m. Thursday on Turkey Lane, according to Buxton Police. A 16-yearold girl and a 17-year-old boy, whose names have not been released, were taken to the hospital with injuries, according to police. Also taken to the hospital with injuries was 19-year-old Zakary Pacillo, according to police.
All four were riding in the vehicle that overturned in the area of Turkey Lane and Henry Hill Road, police said.
On a community Facebook page called “Bonny Eagle Strong,” there was a post commenting on the tragedy of Greene’s death.
“Rest in the sweetest peace, Angel,” it said.
MSAD 6 Superintendent of Schools Frank Sherburne said in a press release Thursday that a crisis team was available to support staff and students.
The investigation of the accident is ongoing. No official cause has been released, but police say that speed appears to be a factor.
