We are outraged at the placement of your Jan. 3 story about Gov.  Mills’ official inauguration. The swearing-in of a new governor warrants top billing anyway, but when it’s the swearing-in of our state’s first female governor, it’s history in the making! Instead of placing it as your headline story, you relegated Janet Mills’ history-making—and that of the people of Maine—to the center position usually reserved for feel-good stories such as the furry, four-legged friends story placed there just days before.

It doesn’t just feel good to officially have a woman in the Blaine House. It’s the top story of the day.
