Ethel Pearl King, age 97 of Orlando, Florida, formerly long-term resident of Brunswick, Maine passed away at her residence in Orlando on April 17, 2019.

Ethel was born on September 29, 1921 in Bath, Maine where she grew up.

Ethel married her childhood sweetheart Freeland Harrison King Jr. in 1945. The couple settled in Brunswick, Maine where they raised their two children Dennis Freeland King and Ethel Annie King Coffin.

Ethel spent more than 50 years in Maine before relocating to Florida in the early 1980s.

Ethel was a feisty, playful, strong willed woman with a good sense of humor. She worked as a timekeeper at Bath Iron Works during World War II and volunteered at her local soup kitchen feeding the homeless.

Ethel excelled in oil painting, enjoyed gardening, embracing nature, learning and history. She also occasionally enjoyed a good football game with her family.

Ethel was predeceased by her husband Freeland, her sister Leola Warner, brother-in-law Clarence “Bud” Warner. She is survived by son Dennis King and daughter-in-law Diane King, daughter Annie and son-in-law Stephen Coffin, grandson Brian David King, granddaughter Stephannie Coffin, and grandson Tristram Coffin.
