BRUNSWICK — Wasabe came to us in January. She is around 3 years old, and you will not meet a cat with more personality. Walk into Cat Room C and she is the one to greet you. She adores people, but is just lukewarm toward other cats. Every so often she’ll get “in a mood” and will let you know, so it’s important to pay attention to her body language to give her space when she wants it. Her adoption fee has been waived.
Wasabe is a long-term resident and is classified as one of our “No Paw Left Behind” animals. Learn more at midcoasthumane.org or call (207) 449-1366 to speak with an adoption counselor. Wasabe is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed. Check out midcoasthumane.org/ or visit our shelter in Brunswick to meet Wasabe and all of our adoptable pets.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
