BRUNSWICK – Ruth Elaine Creamer, 96, of Bath, whom most recently resided at Horizon’s in Brunswick, passed away July 11, 2019, after a long battle with dementia. She was born to the late Rufus and Dora Bunker on July 31, 1922.

She was a long time soldier in the Bath Salvation Army and put many hours into the Home League as the secretary. She was loved by all who were a part of the Home League and The Bath Corp. She was on the American Legion Auxiliary in Bath for many years. Ruth was a dedicated activist for many programs in the 1960s such as head start and The Women’s Washington March. Ruth spent many hours fighting for the rights of woman and those in poverty. As well as her own 14 children and three stepchildren, she played a large part in the upbringing of many other children. She was known as “Ma” to most and for good reason.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children. She was predeceased by nine children, Wendall, Pauline, Florice, Hildreth, Elaine, Letha, Byron, Elizabeth, and Michael and three stepchildren, Perley Jr, Ruthie, and Douglas.

As well as 14 children, Ruth had 33 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 38 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters and survived by two brothers, Buddy Bunker of Whitefield and Alden Bunker of California; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held July 17 at 11 a.m. at the Bath Salvation Army, 25 Congress Ave., Bath,
