KENNEBUNK–On Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, Community Harvest, a local nonprofit organization, will host its annual Noel Dinner at St. Martha’s Church on Route 1 in Kennebunk. 

The Noel Dinner is a complimentary Christmas day dinner for community members to come together and share in delicious food and fellowship.

In 2015, The Noel Dinner served dinner to nearly 135 people, including guests and volunteers. The event has become a tradition for many families in the area, and is a wonderful way for neighbors to get to know each other while enjoying a delicious Christmas meal.

Dinner will be prepared by Chairperson Eva Barnfather and a team of volunteers and served at 1 p.m. Reservations and takeout orders can be made in advance by calling 967-1911 and leaving a message with your name and number. 

Reservations are encouraged, however everyone is welcome to stop in and enjoy a homemade Christmas meal.

“This is a wonderful way to spend this wonderful holiday with friends and your neighbors.  The Noel Dinner is our way to give back to our community.  And we want everyone to have a special place to spend this holiday,” said Barnfather, the Noel Dinner Chairperson and Community Harvest’s Board of Directors. “Our doors are open to everyone and we want to share Community Harvest’s tradition of Christmas.”

Community Harvest was founded in 1999 and is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Kennebunk. 

The organization focuses on food, fellowship, and financial assistance for those living in Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, and Arundel, and offers all services free of charge.

In addition to Project Pilgrim, Community Harvest hosts the complimentary Noel Dinner on Christmas Day, as well as Harvest Café, a complimentary dinner for the community on the third Thursday of every month at the Lutheran Church in Kennebunk.
