Sanford students showed off their spirit Friday, Oct. 24 with a school- and community-wide pep rally at Memorial Gym that started at 6 a.m. The community accepted the School Spirit Challenge, hosted by WGME-TV, to determine which school collects the most pounds of food for Good Shepherd Food Bank. Sanford will find out whether they win the Spirit Cup Trophy sometime after Friday’s rally at Gray-New Gloucester schools. Sanford’s goal is to bring in the most food ”“ and beat the winning school from 2013, Biddeford, which brought in 43,000 pounds of food and $7,000 in cash for Good Shepherd Food Bank.
