The clean up was organized by CLYNK, the new, innovative system for bottle redemption offered exclusively at Hannaford Brothers stores.

More than 75 CLYNK volunteers spread mulch and raked leaves, saving the budget-strained city of Portland thousands of dollars in staff time and fuel costs, given that leaf blowing was replaced with raking, a much more eco-friendly option.
