The Lakes Region Farmers’ Market in Windham began its second season Saturday at the Manchester School parking lot opposite the Fire Station on Route 302 in North Windham.

The market has added additional vendors and a wider variety of quality locally grown or produced wares. On opening day vendors were selling artisan cheeses, breads and pastries, annuals, herbs, perennials, shrubs, vegetable seedlings, all natural poultry

and eggs, honey, cut flowers, home formulated lotions and insect repellents, homemade soaps, bird and bat houses and a great deal more.

As the season progresses there will be grass fed beef, lamb, perhaps pork, and an ever increasing variety and quantity of vegetables, berries and fruits being made available.

The market is open every Saturday, from 8 a.m.-noon, rain or shine. Beginning May 17 there will be live musical entertainment, and other special events taking place each week through the end of the season on October 25. Anyone within the Lakes Region who may be interested in becoming a vendor this season can contact Bob Wehmeyer at 892-0293 or bobfromllamafarm@gmail.com for more information.
