A Standish resident who crashed his motorcycle Sunday remained in critical condition at Maine Medical Center in Portland Tuesday.

Gregory Emmons, 47, was traveling north on Manchester Road in Standish midday Sunday on a 1994 Harley Davidson motorcycle, according to Cumberland County Chief Deputy Kevin Joyce.

Emmons was thrown from his motorcycle when he failed to make a turn and skidded. Emmons was taken to Maine Medical Center with serious head trauma. He was not wearing a helmet.

Speed and alcohol may have been a factor in the accident, according to Joyce.
