Arthur C. Dudley Contractor/Builder Inc. of Blake Road in Standish has been awarded a contract to act as general contractor for the new Halldale Elementary School in Hallowell.

The contract, worth 8.1 million, is for a total new construction of the town’s only elementary school. Dudley, in business since 1974, was the low bidder on the 63,000 square-foot project.

A team of four Dudley supervisors will oversee between 30 and 75 subcontractors at the construction site located just outside Augusta. Building materials include a concrete foundation, structural steel, concrete masonry block, masonry veneer and metal siding.
