The town of Windham will install a playground at Donnabeth Lippman Park this summer.
The $40,000, 60-by-60 foot structure, will accommodate up to 40 people at one time, according to Parks and Recreation Director Brian Ross, who retired on Friday after 10 years with the town.
The playground will include slides, climbing apparatus and tunnels, Ross said.
“We want to make it more of a community park,” he said. “This, I’m sure, will track a lot more people down to the park.”
The town purchased the 123-acre Lippman Park from the Portland Water District in 2011. Last fall, the Maine Conservation Corps installed a new boardwalk and two new bridges on the trail that encircle the 10-acre Chaffin Pond.
