A 35-year-old Massachusetts man is missing following what is initially believed to be a snowmobile accident Saturday night on Sebago Lake.

Paul Blanco of Carlisle, Mass., and two other men were reportedly snowmobiling across Sebago Lake Saturday night when they came upon a section of open water.

The other men managed to cross the span, but, wardens believe, Blanco did not.

A search and rescue team from the Maine State Warden Service was out until 2 a.m. Sunday looking for the man, and resumed around dawn Sunday morning.

Wardens used air boats and planes to scour the icy waters and scan the shores.

According to reports, Blanco’s snowmobile was found around 10:30 a.m. Sunday off Thompson’s Point near Sebago Lake State Park.

Officials from the Maine State Warden Service were out in the field and were not available for comment.
