Grandson
Don and Camille Swander of Windham wish to announce the birth of a grandson, Jackson Augustus Thombs.
Jack was born at Mercy Hospital on Friday, Feb. 16. Jack lives in Kennebunk with his mom Susan Swander Thombs (who is a teacher at Deering High School) and his dad Jeremy Thombs (who is a Nuclear Engineer at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard) and his big sister Elisabeth Grace Thombs (who is nearly 2 years old).
The proud grandparents are happy to report Jack is a healthy, happy, adorable baby boy who makes a great addition to the Thombs family.
Meeting
The Windham Health Council will meet March 7 at 1 p.m. at the home of Isabel Temm. Refreshments will be served and anyone is welcome.
To New York
Kimberly Morrell left Feb. 16 and went to Manhattan, New York. She visited Steve and Heidi Jackson, and returned Feb. 27.
Birthday
Barbara Strout, of Windham Center Road, celebrated her birthday Feb. 26. She went out to dinner with family members.
Home
Elsie Haskell, Nash Road, has returned home from Mercy Hospital. She spent five days there with a blood clot in her leg. She is doing well but must keep her leg up for a while longer.
Meeting
The Rebekah Lodge No. 71 will meet March 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Odd Fellows Hall. This will be Friendship Night, and there will be a brown bag auction. Wendy Miller and Janet Waterhouse are in charge of refreshments.
Las Vegas
Joey DeLeo returned to Las Vegas, Feb. 27. He had been on an Indian reservation in New Mexico, where he was doing missionary work. There are gang and alcohol problems on the reservation. He will be returning home soon.
