Dressed in the latest fashion of the day, Windham High School Class of 1899, poses in front of the brick town office building which also served as a school. Not until 1910 would a high school be built in Windham; today that building is where town offices are and the original “town house” is a museum and home to the Windham Historical Society. Students in this class from long ago included (front row) Mildred Cobb, Annie Varney, Clara Nash, Annie Anthoine and Blanche Douglass. In the back are Mildred Varney, Linwood Brackett, Edith Hawkes, Albert Haskell, Carrie Lamb and Miss Harlow. (Sorry, a couple of names are missing from the records.)
