Old Port steakhouse Low Stakes Lodge announced Monday that it will close for good this fall.

Low Stakes owners Andy Gerry, Baxter Key and Peter Bissell did not set a specific date for the closure, but said in their social media post that the restaurant will be open “a few more weeks.”

The post also says they plan to shut the space down for a few months for renovations, then reopen as an extension of their other property, Highroller Lobster Co., which is located next door.

“This space will be more of what we’ve all known and loved over the last 10 years, and will double as a Highroller private events space,” the Low Stakes post states. Low Stakes owners could not be immediately reached to explain why they decided to close the steakhouse.

With a playful aesthetic that melds Bugaboo Creek-style kitsch with Western saloon-inspired decor, Low Stakes Lodge serves classic steakhouse fare, crowd-pleasing blooming onions, fresh-baked layer cakes and “dice shooters,” where a customer’s shot of liquor is determined by a roll of the dice. The restaurant opened in June 2024.
