HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – Sally Blaine (Morrison) Weed, 88, died Aug. 11, 2025, in Huntington Beach, Calif., with her husband, Ben, and children at her side. She was the seventh of eight children born to Grover and Ida Morrison.
Sally grew up in Ferry village, a section of South Portland with her brothers Billy, Norman and Peter, and sisters Jeanie Franny, Pat and Wanda.
She was schooled in South Portland and attended Sunday school at the South Portland Church of the Nazarene until until she left Maine.
She met Ben Weed in Newport News, Va., when he was serving in the army. After his discharge, she followed him home to California where they married and raised their three beautiful daughters, Lori, Debbie and Marcy.
She became a grandmother to four girls and a great-grandmother to one. She had several nieces and nephews on the East Coast. She was determined to keep them connected to their Maine heritage and was successful.
She was an accomplished, self-taught seamstress and made many of their clothes. She was also blessed with a beautiful singing voice.
Sally loved the Lord and was a dedicated Christian which gave her comfort, peace and solace throughout her years.
