Brothers Zack and Cooper Jones were among four goal scorers for the Maine Mariners as they opened their ECHL preseason schedule Friday night with a 4-2 win over the Worcester Railers in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Ty Cheveldayoff and Linus Hemstrom also scored for Maine. Cheveldayoff started the scoring in the first period when he redirected a shot by Cooper Jones.
Mariners goalie Ethan Pearson made 22 saves.
The teams play again at 6 p.m. Saturday at Harold Alfond Forum in Biddeford. Admission is free.
Maine begins its regular season next Saturday at Worcester, then plays its home opener the following afternoon against the Reading Royals.
