Corinne Ramunno scored three goals in the second half as Biddeford rallied Tuesday for a 4-3 win over Gorham in a clash of expected Class A South field hockey contenders, at Gorham.
Ramunno also assisted on Mia Mariello’s goal on a penalty corner late in the first quarter, but Gorham led 2-1 at halftime after a pair of Sydney Quimby goals.
Mariello set up two of Ramunno’s goals.
Reece Leclerc was the other goal scorer for Gorham.
Biddeford, the No. 1 team in the Varsity Maine Top 10, is now 1-0-1. Seventh-ranked Gorham dropped to 1-1.
WINDHAM 3, SOUTH PORTLAND/WESTBROOK 1: Peyton Archibald and Morgan McLain scored in the third quarter to lift the Eagles (1-1) past the Red Riots (0-1) in South Portland.
Mirabelle Kri scored in the first quarter for Windham. Sarah Smyth assisted on Archibald’s go-ahead goal.
Mia Janoplis of South Portland/Westbrook tied the game in the second quarter, assisted by Emily Lacasse.
NOBLE 9, MASSABESIC 0: Alyssa Plante paced the Knights (2-0) with two goals and three assists in a victory over the Mustangs (0-1) at Waterboro.
Alana Clark also scored twice. Mia Smith, Ashley Merchant, Maddie Thompson, Anna Dupuis and Shelbey Desrosiers added a goal apiece.
GIRLS SOCCER
FREEPORT 4, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3: The Falcons (2-0) scored two second-half goals in a comeback win over the Patriots (0-1) in Gray.
Ella Tracy led Freeport with two goals and two assists. Ky Kennedy and Keely Furtney also found the back of the net.
Brynn Gilmore scored twice and Ella Kenney once in the first half for Gray-New Gloucester.
Nora Eames and Karleigh Costello each made two saves for Freeport. Patriots keeper Mallory Hardiman stopped 12 shots.
TRAIP ACADEMY 3, WAYNFLETE 1: Jacqueline Diallo recorded a hat trick to lift the Rangers (2-0) past the Flyers (0-1) in Kittery.
Waynflete scored on a penalty kick.
Noelle Mallory had 2 goals in 2 assist and her sister Alexa also had 2 goals. Rounding out the scoring for Cape was Haisel McGeachery and Addie Miller. Assits going to Phoebe Evans Alice DeGorge and Azara Govind
CAPE ELIZABETH 6, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Noelle Mallory notched two goals and two assists, and Alexa Mallory also collected two goals as the Capers (2-0) rolled past the Raiders (1-1) in Cape Elizabeth.
Haisel McGeachery and Addie Miller each chipped in with a goal.
POLAND 8, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Alivia Lemieux netted three goals for the Knights (3-0) in a victory over the Hawks in Poland.
Julia Paradis added two goals. Phoebe Paradis, Leksi Langevin and Maddie Bosse found the back of the net once apiece.

SCARBOROUGH 4, THORNTON ACADEMY 1: Finn Coburn broke a 1-1 tie midway through the first half, and the Red Storm (2-0) added two second-half goals to pull away from the Golden Trojans (1-1) in Scarborough.
Connor Casey, E.J. Herrick and Denver Bachman were the other goal scorers for Scarborough, the No. 1 team in the Varsity Maine Top 10.
Sebastian Gamiz scored for Thornton.
FALMOUTH 2, WINDHAM 1: Simon Wissink connected for two goals in the first half, and the Navigators (2-0) held on against the Eagles (0-1) in Falmouth.
Daniel Hancock put Windham on the board midway through the second half.
CAPE ELIZABETH 5, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Max Hayward scored three goals and the Capers (1-1) rolled to a win over the Raiders (0-2-1) in Fryeburg.
Alvero Berratol scored for Fryeburg.
BIDDEFORD 6, CHEVERUS 2: Marcelo Malonda and Alex Keto each scored twice, leading the Tigers (2-0) past the Stags (0-2) in Biddeford.
Agostinho Makengo and Luzizila Makengo also scored for Biddeford.
Patrick Franciose netted both Cheverus goals.
GORHAM 1, BONNY EAGLE 0: An unassisted goal by Will Andreasen was enough for the Rams (2-0) to beat the Scots (1-1) in Gorham.
Corbin Wilson recorded the shutout in goal.
KENNEBUNK 7, NOBLE 0: Grahame Bean and Chris Thompson each scored twice and set up another goal as the Rams (1-1) cruised past the Knights (0-2) in North Berwick.
Levi Christopher, Ashton Trondle and Harrison Chadbourne each added a goal.
PORTLAND 1, SANFORD 1: Pedro Bunga gave Portland (0-1-1) a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute, but Gavin Hebler of Sanford (0-1-1) answered with a penalty kick just before halftime, and the Bulldogs and Spartans settled for a draw in Sanford.
BRUNSWICK 8, OXFORD HILLS 0: Asher Foushee scored two goals and the Dragons (2-0) pulled away in the second half to defeat the Vikings (0-2) in Brunswick.
Foushee and Oliver Gorchoff tallied first-half goals before Brunswick scored six in the second half, from Foushee, Jacob Samuel, Will Maher, Chris Bauketi, Liam Rapoza and Finn White.
Quincy Edson stopped 15 shots for the Vikings. Brunswick’s Edgar Meardon and Declan Theberge combined for three saves.
VOLLEYBALL
SCARBOROUGH 3, MARSHWOOD 0: The Red Storm (2-0) held on to win the first set, 25-21, then cruised in the next two sets, 25-15 and 25-11, for a victory in South Berwick.
Nellie Young had seven kills, Kylie Folger made seven digs and Brynn Folger recorded 13 assists for Marshwood.
FALMOUTH 3, DEERING 0: Olive Clark had 13 kills, Abby Shaw finished with 16 assists, and the Navigators (2-0) won in three sets against the Rams (0-1) in Portland.
Lyla Gagnon added five aces and two kills, and Megan Gilbert and Julia Young each had four aces. Gilbert also recorded three kills.
