The Gutter, a Brooklyn-based bowling alley and bar mini-chain, aims to open this month on Main Street in Biddeford in the Marble Block building.

The venue is scheduled to launch Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 129 Main St. It will be the fourth location for The Gutter, which first opened in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2007, and has since launched two other locations in New York City.

“Biddeford’s energy, fun sense of community, and historic architecture make it the perfect fit for us,” said Gutter owner Todd Powers in a press release. Powers grew up spending summers in Biddeford.

Lanes at The Gutter feature a vintage 1970s aesthetic, with seating for 145 in the bowling area and bar. The food menu includes pressed sandwiches, hot dogs and other casual fare, while the bar program centers around local and regional beers on tap.

The Gutter Biddeford will be open daily from noon to 1 a.m. All ages are welcome at the venue with an adult until 7 p.m.; after that hour only 21+ patrons are allowed.
