An Old Orchard Beach motorcyclist died Thursday night after he collided with a tree on Temple Avenue.

Scott Cohen, 50, died at the scene, which police responded to around 11:35 p.m., officials said.

Old Orchard Beach Deputy Police Chief David Hemingway said in a phone call Friday that Cohen had been traveling northwest and that speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

Crash reconstruction specialists from Saco also responded, Hemingway said.

Investigators don’t believe other vehicles or pedestrians played a factor in the crash, Hemingway said. The investigation is still ongoing.
