Frank E. Barbieri

SACO – Frank Barbieri passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 1, 2025. He was 94 years old.

Frank was born in Bridgeport, Conn., the son of Ernest and Gladys Barbieri. He grew up in the town of Easton, Conn., attending local schools and Bassick High School in Bridgeport. He attended the University of Connecticut for two years.

As a young man he was active in sports playing football and baseball in high school and later for local amateur teams.

He served in the U.S. Amy during the Korean War. He was a retired Connecticut State Trooper, retiring in 1982 after serving for 26 years with the department.

In 1993, he moved to Portland with his beloved wife Jill, where they shared life together along the Maine coast.

Frank was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Gladys (LaVay) Barbieri; daughter, Erica; his grandchild, Ryan; and his brother, Vincent.

Frank is survived by his wife, Jill Barbieri; his son, David Barbieri and wife Madeline, his two daughters, Melissa Hannifan and husband Michael, and Susan Youngbuck and husband Jason, his stepdaughter, Kirsten Sharpe; his sister, Ginger Humeston and husband Joseph; his grandchildren, Shane, Colt, and Lauren; and many nieces, nephews; and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 15, at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
