Westbrook Strong 5K
The 12th annual Westbrook Strong 5K race is set for 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, at Riverbank Park.
The 5K memorializes Matthew Rairdon, who was murdered at age 22 in 2013. The race benefits scholarships and other charities. Registration is $30.
The race fee for Matt’s Mile/Sprint for children younger than 10 is $7.50, plus a $2 sign-up fee. The mile run has a 7:30 a.m. start time.

Free concerts in full swing
Summer concerts are happening at several venues in Westbrook. At Vallee Square, Stolen Mojo will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, and King Kyote will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 17.
At Westbrook Common, concerts are set for Saturdays from 5 to 7 p.m. Coming up is Frank Gallagher on July 12 and Hildaland on July 19.
Phil ‘n the Blanks is playing from 6 to 8 p.m. at Riverbank Park Tuesday, July 15. American Legion Post 62 and Westbrook Lions Club will host a barbecue.
Paddle the Presumpscot
Several dates to join a guided canoe trip on the Presumpscot River are available by contacting Discover Downtown Westbrook. The cost is $70.

Movie night
A free movie will be shown at 8:15 p.m. following food trucks and music, 5:30 to 8 p.m., outside at Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St.
Admission is free, but food and drinks must be paid for with cash, debit or credit card.
