June Pauline Hallowell
BATH – June Pauline Hallowell went to be with our Lord on June 1, 2025. June was born on March 11, 1929 in East Braintree, Mass. to Victor C. Chase and Mildred P. Aylsworth. She attended schools in Bath. June worked at Senter’s Department Store, Central Restaurant (where she met her husband Frank Hallowell) W.T. Grant, Burgess Market and Grand City. June not only worked at these places of business but she made many good friends there. She sold Tupperware in Bath where she was so successful that she won trips to Florida. June wed Frank Russell Hallowell on October 10, 1948. They were married for 47 years and resided at 7 Winslow Court their whole married life. Except for a few years when June worked at Petit’s Nursing Home and Gowen’s Nursing Home, June prided herself on being a stay at home mom.
June was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bath and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She had “the gift of gab” and was at ease talking with anyone and everyone.
June’s true ministry was talking with people about her love of Jesus Christ. June hosted and played Canasta and other card games with her friends on a regular basis and enjoyed crocheting. June and Frank owned a summer camp on Echo Lake in Mt. Vernon. They would host their grandchildren for a week at a time and this built strong, happy memories for all of them. June, affectionately called Nana, Nana June or Grammy loved to make molasses cookies and waffles. During her latter years she resided at the Plant Home where she flourished and enjoyed the staff and other residents. The last two years was spent at Winship Green where jigsaw puzzles and Bingo were her favorite past times.
June is predeceased by her husband Frank “Russ” Hallowell, her sister Marjorie Haines and three stepchildren; Frank R. Hallowell Jr., Nancy Hudson, and Judith Rancourt.
She is survived by two sons, Dale M. Hallowell and his wife Victoria Sue Hallowell and Brian N. Hallowell and his wife Holly Hallowell. Four grandsons: Patrick Hallowell and his wife Clarissa of Oxford, AL.
