The new owners of Vena’s Fizz House have announced the Westbrook business will continue to operate, with the help of founders Johanna and Steve Corman.

Dan and Stefanie Cisowski of Scarborough bought Vena’s from the Cormans in May. The Cormans will stay with the business for at least the next five years, Dan Cisowski said, remaining hands-on with product development and mixology education.

“Having Steve and Johanna’s expertise here makes this possible for us,” said Cisowski, who moved with his wife to Maine from Connecticut last summer to be closer to family. “They have done an amazing job with these products.”

In March, the Cormans announced that they were planning to retire and looking to sell the business. They said that the operation, based in the Dana Warp Mill at 90 Bridge St. in Westbrook, would close as of April 30 after 12 years in business.

“We talked them out of retirement,” Cisowski said. “The fresh ideas and passion they still have for these products is far from what you’d expect from people who want to retire from their business.”

Cisowski said Vena’s will eventually expand its product offerings. But for now, they’re busy bringing back some products — like four-ounce spirit infusions — that have been customer favorites. Vena’s products are available online and at retailers around the state.
