Located at 506 Main St. in Stockhouse Station, Owlbear’s Rest — named for a creature in the fantasy role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons — is slated to launch Friday, May 30, according to owner Patty Turnquist.

The space will include a traditional cafe area with tables for two and a small, free library of one- and two-player games; a premium gaming area with bigger tables and more than 300 games to choose from; and a private game/meeting area called “The Druid’s Grove.”

“We’ve been getting a lot of feedback that the community really wants us to become a role-playing hub,” Turnquist said.

Owlbear’s menu will include items like build-your-own charcuterie boards and local baked goods like hand pies from Portable Pie Place in Searsport, as well as a variety of vegan and gluten-free options. A full espresso bar will feature Bard Coffee.

Owlbear’s Rest will be open Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
