Popular cocktail and mocktail business Vena’s Fizz House announced Wednesday that it is closing this spring after 12 years in business.
According to a news release from owners Johanna and Steve Corman, the Westbrook-based business is closing for good April 30. Vena’s will put all of its products on sale starting March 19 until the inventory is gone.
“After 12 amazing, crazy, wonderful years creating, owning, operating and pouring our blood, sweat and tears into Vena’s Fizz House, Steve and I are ready to retire,” the release stated in part.
The news release also noted that the Cormans are interested in selling the business.
Vena’s launched in 2013 as a small shop and bar in Old Port. That location closed during the pandemic, and the Cormans had plans to reopen in a larger location — a historic former church on Congress Street — in 2022.
But partway through renovation of the church, the couple decided they no longer wanted a physical location. Instead, they switched to focus on classes, consulting, private events, and online and wholesale business.
