COLUMBUS, Ohio – Lynn A. Whitman died on March 4, 2025 in Columbus, Ohio.
Lynn was born to the late Hila Mae (Crocker) and Richard E. Edy on Sept. 9, 1940 in Fort Wayne, Ind. where she lived for three years and then moved to Ashtabula, Ohio, graduating from Edgewood High School in 1958. She attended Baldwin Wallace University and graduated with an education degree in 1962.
After teaching elementary classes at Middleburg Heights and Ashtabula, Ohio, she obtained a Library Media degree from the University of Colorado in 1968. Thereafter, she worked in the Rocky River and Dublin City School Systems while taking time off to raise her son.
She also was a church Sunday school director and a church librarian. She enjoyed helping others, reading, traveling, and convening the Chap Alum group.
She is survived by her husband, Steven; son, David; and brothers-in-law, Peter (Susan) Whitman and Jon (Nancy) Whitman.
Her body has been moved to Maine, and her internment will be in the future.
