It seems like everyone in Portland municipal politics is almost always talking about one of three things: housing, the public school system or property taxes.

It is abundantly clear that the property tax burden on homeowners in Portland is too high. At the same time, most Portlanders agree that they want students in the public school system to receive the resources they deserve, and that the people of this city deserve safe, affordable housing.

The city of Portland needs revenue for both an outstanding public school system and a safe and affordable public housing system, and we can’t just rely on municipal property taxes in order to achieve both those goals.

Enter Grayson Lookner, candidate for City Council at-large. Grayson knows the state Legislature and can be the bridge to help get the funding our schools and housing programs need. He has my vote for City Council at-large.
