People say their vote’s only one and won’t make a difference. Well, in Maine we know one flake of snow doesn’t make much difference either, but millions of them will determine how we’re going to live our day. Please, let’s add our votes to millions of others to determine how we’ll live the next four years and beyond.
People say that the all candidates are the same, and past elections were “the most important in their lifetime.” Well, the outcome of this election will determine not only who occupies the office but how our government will be transformed for years that far exceed their terms of office. The two candidates are very different in experience, ability, temperament and how they view of our country. It’s important to understand those differences and vote for the candidate who’s best suited to lead our government(s).
Register to vote. Understand the choices. Vote!

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
