All polls indicate that the presidential election is going to be very close, perhaps a matter of a few thousand ballots in a few “swing” states. Many people hope to see some enterprising pollster uncover the mother lode of clear-eyed voters committed to putting an end to the Trump scam. When is enough, enough?
Look at the Oct. 7 no show by Trump on “60 Minutes” (How dare they include real-time fact checking?). Add this to the litany of lies, frauds, felony convictions and pending legal actions and a reasonable person would conclude this person unfit for any public office. Yet, the polls indicate otherwise.
Our democracy has survived many attempts (external and internal) to destroy it. We are playing Russian roulette. We may do to ourselves what our many adversaries have not been able to do. We can only hope that the many clear-eyed and rational voters show up on Nov. 5.
