Why does hazing still exist on any school campus? Hazing happens when a small group wants to dominate other members. It is enabled by group members burying their conscience to participate or stay silent. According to one source, www.stophazing.org, there are three components to hazing.
It involves humiliating, degrading or endangering behavior; it happens regardless of an individual’s willingness to participate.
Does this sound eerily familiar to the Republican Party? The definition describes the current Republican candidate for president to a T.
Hazing works through intimidation, providing misinformation, and excluding any member that might jeopardize the loss of power to the leaders. It depends upon other members being in the dark or participating by association. As voters approach the ballot box this November, they should please remember that our country was hazed during the last Trump administration.
This election is about preserving our democracy and preventing further hazing.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
