A June 4 letter to the editor stated …”How dare Susan Collins decry the decision of the New York jury to convict Donald Trump in the Stormy Daniels case?”

I did not hear Sen. Collins decry the jury decision. What I heard her say was that she believes the charges were brought for political reasons. She went on to explain that using the justice system for political gain is a dangerous road to take.

I feel her beliefs are well founded.
