Mary Frances Winfield
BEAUFORT, S.C. – Surrounded by family, Mary Frances Winfield, our beloved mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away after a brief illness on March 17, 2023.
Mary was known for her deep commitment to her family and delighted in spending time with all her children and their families. She never missed an opportunity to be present for all of us and share in the many celebrations of life through her 93 years.
Always self-motivated, she exercised daily, golfed, loved to play cards, Bingo, do crossword puzzles and read. She was a lover of flowers and beautiful trees and could sit for hours and just seemed to be at such peace with the world around her. She never missed a birthday, wedding, or other milestone event for any family member and supported all of us through the many stages of our lives. She was a shining example of a life well-lived. We have so many memories to look back on. We expect to laugh a lot, share what we remember and reminisce about her with tears and joy for having had her by our sides for so long. We are certain that she will be around us always, watching and reminding us to stay the course, live a good life, and be everything she always wanted us to be.
We love you Mama. We love you Grammie, We love you Great-Great. Because of you…we are.
She is survived by her children, Pamela (Guy Rossignol), Sheila (Peter Munson), Deborah (Scott Dunn), Robert Winfield and Cheryl Bull; 11 grandchildren, Willard (Tina Sprague), Adam Miller, Robie Currier (KJ Grow), Katie Curtis, Kimberly (Lars Borssen), Corey (Kelly Brown), Trevor Brown, Arthur (Jessica Winfield), Eric (Patricia Bull), Kevin (Samantha Bull) and Alexander Bull; 15 great-grandchildren, Dean, Nina and Luke Sprague, Abigael Curtis, Landon and Elin Borssen, Ellis, Avery, Riley and Kelsey Brown, Parker Brown, Kingston and Camilla Winfield and Tyler and Madison Bull. There will be a Celebration of Life held in Maine in the summer. The family wishes to send a special thanks to the staff of Loving Arms Home Care and to Friends of Caroline Hospice for their care and compassion.
