Voters in Cumberland, and on Chebeague and Long Islands, please join me in voting to send Steve Moriarty back to Augusta so he can continue to work on issues that matter to us: protecting revenue-sharing and state aid to education to provide property tax relief; promoting affordable housing; addressing labor shortages; increasing availability of affordable clean energy for homes, and more.
Steve supported dealing effectively with the contamination of farmlands by “forever chemicals,” as well as modernizing our electrical grid, funding schools at the promised 55% and investing in Land for Maine’s Future to preserve working waterfronts, farms and forests.
Steve is a Clean Elections candidate, so he’ll answer only to you, his constituents, not outside groups or lobbyists. Simply put, his goal is seeing all of us prosper. What more could we ask for?

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
