I look for three characteristics in elected officials. 1) Someone who genuinely cares and shows a deep commitment to the community (not for one’s ego). 2) Someone who understands complex issues, has good solutions, and distills and communicates both to broad audiences. 3) Someone who really listens to their community to collaborate and find solutions that work for all involved, including those with different perspectives.I moved to Falmouth in 2012 and have gotten to know Amy Kuhn initially as a neighbor and then as a leader on behalf of our public library and as a leading town councilor. In each of these roles, I have seen Amy display all of these qualities in spades. I look forward to seeing Amy continue to strengthen our community at the State House. I hope you will join me in voting for Amy Kuhn as our state representative.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
