American Legion hosting cookout at Winterfest
Stephen W. Manchester Post 62 of the American Legion and the Westbrook Lions Club are teaming up to host a cookout from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during Winterfest on Saturday, March 5.
Hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages will be served on Dunn Street in conjunction with the event sponsored by Discover Downtown Westbrook. The cookout will be similar to the ones held during Riverbank Park concerts in the summer.
Senior citizens to meet
Louie Phillipe will entertain when the Westbrook Senior Citizens meets at 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 7, at Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St.

The American Journal reported March 1, 1972, that Joseph Hakanson, president of Northeast Bank of Westbrook, would speak when Westbrook Senior Citizens was to meet in the American Legion Hall on Dunn Street.
