Sara Boissonneault wasted no opportunities at the plate on Wednesday, driving in five on two hits to lead Sanford past Kennebunk 12-6.
Boissonneault drove in runs on a fielder’s choice in the first, a single in the second, and a home run in the fourth.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as Sanford collected 11 hits and Kennebunk 12 in the high-scoring affair
Sanford opened the scoring in the first, when Olivia Durham induced Boissonneault to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
The Spartans put up four runs in the second courtesy of RBIs from Tori Lawrence, Madison Romano and Boissonneault.
Grace Curley took the win for Sanford. She allowed 12 hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out one.
Durham took the loss for Kennebunk. She lasted 4.2 innings, allowing nine hits and 10 runs while striking out two.
Sanford socked one home run on the day – Boissonneault homered in the fourth.
The Spartans collected 11 hits on the day. Tori Parker, Romano, Boissonneault and Lawrence all had multiple hits. Romano and Parker all had three hits to lead the Spartans.
Kennebunk racked up 12 hits on the day. Maddison Pike, Durham, Christine Jarowicz, Olivia Cox and Grace McGovern all collected multiple hits for Kennebunk. Pike went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Kennebunk in hits.
