BUXTON — A traffic stop in Buxton of a suspect wanted for six outstanding arrest warrants has led to additional drug charges being filed in the case.
According to Buxton Police Chief Troy Cline, Buxton Officer Warren Day stopped a vehicle in town Saturday and arrested Levi Hanson, 30, of Buxton for the outstanding warrants, which were for a variety of offenses ranging from criminal mischief to driving in Cumberland County following license revocation.
During a search of Henson’s vehicle, Cline said drugs and contraband were found and four new charges were then filed against Hanson.
Besides the arrest warrants, Hanson has been charged with aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs, a Class A crime; unlawful possession of a scheduled drug, a Class D crime; operating a motor vehicle following habitual offender revocation, a Class C crime; and falsifying physical evidence, a Class D crime.
“Given this is a pending criminal investigation, there will be no further information available,” Cline said.
Hanson is scheduled to appear at Alfred Superior Court on May 24 to answer the charges.
He currently remains in custody at the York County Jail with $10,000 cash bail set for the drug charge.
