WATERBORO — Massabesic senior Kenzy Ouellette scored 16 points on Tuesday night to help the Mustangs pick up a 55-41 win over Kennebunk — and the standout also broke the school record for career points in the process.
Ouellette takes over the record from former MHS standout Carmen Gawronski, who set the mark at 1,053 back in 1982.
Massabesic, which jumped out to a 16-7 lead after the first quarter, was led by Marissa Holt with 19 points.
Kennebunk was led by Emily Archibald and Samantha Creech with 11 points each.
Noble 60, St. Dom’s 41
The Noble girls basketball squad improved to 6-5 on the season with a win over St. Dominic Academy on Tuesday night.
The host Knights would jump out to a 19-2 lead after the opening quarter and never looked back.
Amy Fleming led Noble with 19 points and eight rebounds. Olivia Howard added 16 points and Raegan Kelly finished with 10 points and eight boards in the win.
Becca Zimmerman led St. Dom’s with 12 points.
Thornton Academy 36, Falmouth 31 (overtime)
Katrin Dumont nailed a 3-pointer early in overtime to five the Trojans the lead and they would hold on for the victory on Tuesday.
Grace Mears led TA (3-9) with 13 points.
Scarborough 58, Biddeford 37
The Tigers held a 13-8 lead after the opening quarter, but Scarborough would dominate the rest of the way as they cruised to the win.
Gracie Martin led Biddeford with 24 points.
Boys Basketball
Falmouth 51, Thornton Academy 47
The host Yachtsmen outscored TA 17-10 in the fourth quarter as they rallied for the win on Tuesday.
Mike Simonds finished with 19 points and Nik Hester added 17 to lead Falmouth (10-2).
Thornton Academy (8-3) was led by Dylan Griffin with 16 points and Robert Gawronski chipped in 11 points.
Scarborough 52, Biddeford 50
The visiting Tigers led 37-36 after three quarters, but the Red Storm would earn the victory with a strong fourth quarter.
Biddeford (3-8) was led by Nick Lyons with 12 points and Cody Saucier finished with 11 points. Carter Edgerton, Ashton Crowell and Alex McAlevey added nine points apiece in the loss.
Paul Kirk led Scarborough (5-7) with 18 points.
Noble 65, St. Dom’s 30
The visiting Knights scored 40 points in the first half as they cruised to the win on Tuesday.
Noble (3-8) was led by Kyle Kennedy with 11 points.
