YORK — The Kennebunk wrestling team captured the 2018 Sullivan Duals championship with an impressive performance on Saturday at York High School.
The Rams finished the day with a 4-0 record, including wins over Gardiner (78-6), York (54-30), Lincoln Academy (78-3) and Wells (48-27).
In the Gardiner dual, the Rams would get pins from Alden Shields (126 pounds), David York (138) and Spencer Hutchinson (160).
Kennebunk’s Elized Soule (106), Sean Radel (113), Garrett Dickinson (120), Cameron Fenderson (145), Stephen Burt (152), Trevor Fecko (170), Toby Dunne (182), Chase Lamontagne (195), Nathan Tyler (220) and Cameron Bennett (285) all accepted forfeits in the victory.
The Rams used pins from Dickinson, Shields, Camden Bard (132), York, Fenderson and Lamontagne in their 54-30 win over York.
Soule, Radel and Burt all earned forfeit wins during the York match.
Shields, Bard, Caston Wilcox (138), Fenderson, Burt, Fecko and Lamontagne picked up wins by fall in the victory over Lincoln.
Kennebunk’s Soule, Radel, Dickinson, Dunne, Tyler and Bennett accepted forfeit wins against Lincoln.
In the match against Wells, the Rams would get pins from Radel, Shields, York, Burt and Hutchinson. Dickinson and Fecko earned wins by decision for Kennebunk, which also picked up forfeit wins from Soule and Fenderson.
Travis Foster (132), Jonah Potter (195), Morgan Welch-Thompson (220) and Braeden MacNeill (285) all had pins for Wells. Evan Cash earned a decision for the Warriors, who went 3-1 and finished in second as a team.

Locals take home gold from Westbrook Invitational
The annual Westbrook Invitational features some of the state’s best wrestlers and three locals would bring home gold from the tournament on Saturday.
Biddeford’s Josiah Garcia won the 145-pound title with a 7-2 decision over Morse’s Mason Savary.
Sanford would get two champions as Isaac Plante captured the 182-pound title with a 4-3 win over Marshwood’s Dylan Strong. Sol Demers brought home the 220-pound championship after pinning Cony’s Mohammed Aljendi in 4:50.
Biddeford’s Coby Downs finished second at 120 pounds after dropping the finals match to Marshwood’s Sean Moriarty by fall.
The Tigers got another second-place finish from Devon Whitmore, who dropped the 160-pound final to Mountain Valley’s Anthony Mazza by fall.
Sanford’s Adam Genereux (113) and Biddeford’s Aushe Edmond (170) and Ryan Brown (195) finished fourth in the tournament.
Three Mustangs grab hardware in PA
The Massabesic wrestling team’s annual trip to Athens, Pennsylvania was highlighted by two second-place finishes and one third-place medal.
Junior Matt Pooler was second at 152 pounds and sophomore Noah Hernandez was the runner-up at 160.
The Mustangs got a third-place finish from junior Micah Fitzgerald at 145 pounds at the always tough Jarvis Tournament.
