SANFORD — Ted Gay, right, of Factory Mutual Insurance was at Sanford Fire Department Central Station recently for an official award presentation of a $1,741 grant to buy a new camera and accessories for fire prevention and investigation.
He is shown here with Fire Marshal Patrick Cotter, left, receiving the award on behalf of the department.
Sanford Fire Chief Steve Benotti said Sanford Fire Department was fortunate to be able to receive the company’s help in replacing an aging piece of equipment in the Fire Marshal’s Office.
“Public-private partnerships are a vital piece of funding for municipal agencies and we thank FM Global for their continued support in this,” Benotti said.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
