Editor,
I am disappointed that the clam flats area in Biddeford will be closed for use to the general public.
In past years, I have taken my grandchildren there for a day outing during the late summer and they have had a fun time.
I recently saw on the City of Biddeford’s website that The State of Maine Department of Marine Resources has ordered the Biddeford clam flats to be closed beginning Aug. 1 and it will be closed through August and September because of water quality reasons.
Wish I would have known this sooner as I was planning to take my grandchildren there before school started up again.
