BRUNSWICK — Richard Earle “Dick” Colburn, 80, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at his home in Brunswick, Maine.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Earlyle Colburn of Brunswick.
Dick was a graduate of Brunswick High School, Tufts University (undergraduate), and University of Southern California (master’s).
As a lieutenant in the Navy, he served on the icebreaker USS Glacier in Antarctica. He had a career as a computer systems analyst and manager, first with Great Northern Paper and then retiring from Georgia Pacific.
In recent years he was an active volunteer with the AARP tax program and with Spectrum Generations.
Dick is survived by his wife of 59 years Dawn, five children — son Mike (wife Patti), daughter Lorri (husband Bob), son Zack (wife Susan), daughter Kristi (husband John), and son Quentin (wife Emily), former daughter-in-law Val, six grandchildren — Kathleen, Danielle, Andy, Scott, Everett, and Leyton, and various beloved grand-doggies.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation and CHANS Home Health & Hospice in Brunswick.
