WISCASSET — The Wiscasset Parks and Recreation Department will host this year’s Scotts Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run competition on May 12.
The event will take place on the high school baseball field from 9 a.m. to noon.
Pitch, Hit and Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.
There are several age categories — ages 7/8, 9/10, 11/12 and 13/14 — with the possibility of competing in the national finals during 2018 MLB All-Star week.
All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and have their guardian or parent fill out a registration waiver.
