BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College senior Hannah Hirschfeld has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week.
Hirschfeld led the Polar Bears to a pair of important tightly- played NESCAC wins last week.
After posting a goal and an assist, including a helper on a late go-ahead goal against Colby on Wednesday night, Hirschfeld sparked a big Polar Bear comeback against Wesleyan on Saturday. Down by four goals with under 20 minutes to play, Hirschfeld scored all five of her goals in the second half, including the game-winner, to help propel Bowdoin to the win.
She finished the game with five goals, three assists and a caused turnover.
The 13th- ranked Polar Bears (10-3, 5-3 NESCAC) continue their pursuit of a NESCAC home quarterfinal game on Saturday as they travel to play at Williams at noon.
