Brunswick police dealt with a pair of vehicle crashes to start the week.

They were called out to Medical Center Drive just before 7 a.m. Tuesday for a two-vehicle accident. Brunswick Police Cmdr. Tom Garrepy said Carol Pinkham, 69, of Bath was traveling toward Bath Road on Medical Center Drive when an oncoming vehicle crossed the centerline and sideswiped her pickup.

Garrepy said that vehicle was driven by Gail Elwell 47, of Topsham, who suffered a medical episode that caused her to drift over the centerline.

Elwell was taken to Mid Coast Hospital to be checked out; Pinkham wasn’t injured.

On Monday morning, a Rockport man was transported to a Portland hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Maine Street, near Fort Andross.

Garrepy said around 10:55 a.m., 68-year-old Ronald Pinkham of Rockport was exiting Route 1, had a green light and was crossing Maine Street toward Cabot Street when his Saab was struck by a GMC pickup truck. The pickup, driven by John Edgecomb, 68, of Bowdoinham, was traveling north on Maine Street when the collision occurred.

Garrepy said Pinkham complained of neck pain and was taken to Mercy Hospital. His passenger, 59-year-old Kristi Mann, was not injured. Edgecomb also had no injuries. Garrepy said Tuesday no charges were issued.
