Portland police have 16 unsolved homicides dating back to 1985.
• Mary Ann Deragon – Sept. 12, 1985, the body of 32-year-old Deragon was found between Riverton School and Farnham Street. Cause of death was not released.
• Scott Sampson – Nov. 13, 1990, Sampson was found deceased on a sidewalk next to Pine Street. The cause of death was not released.
• Henry Champagne – Feb. 15, 1991, 62-year-old Champagne was found dead by police who were called to check on his well-being. Cause of death was not released.
• Maude Holden – Oct. 27, 1994, 73-year-old Holden died in an arson fire at her apartment building on Washington Avenue.
• Sarina Towle – March 25, 1994, 2-year-old Sarina “Pretty” Towle was found murdered in her bedroom on Danforth Street. Police later said she was beaten to death and sexually assaulted.
• Robert Joyal – April 4, 1998, 18-year-old Joyal was with friends at the Denny’s restaurant on Congress Street and was stabbed during an altercation in the parking lot.
• Frank Williams – Aug. 16, 2008, 37-year-old was chased after an altercation and beaten and stabbed in the soccer field on Fox Street.
• James Angelo – Sept. 7, 2008, 27-year-old Angelo, a security guard at Mercy Hospital, was conducting a check of the doctor’s parking lot when he was shot and killed.
• Than Yim – Dec. 20, 2009, 33-year-old Than Yim died of wounds he received during an altercation involving a large group of individuals in the parking lot of Thanah Thanah Bida Club on Read Street.
• Darien Richardson – Jan. 8, 2010, 25-year-old Richardson and her boyfriend, Corey Girard, were shot by intruders while sleeping in their bedroom on Rackleff Street. Richardson later died.
• Taquan Samuels – July 25, 2010, 22-year-old Samuels was shot and killed leaving a party on Allen Avenue.
• Allen McLean – Aug. 1, 2011, 41-year-old McLean was shot outside of 4 Massachusetts Ave. and later died.
• Matthew Blanchard – July 11, 2012, 24-year-old Blanchard was shot on India Street.
• David Anderson – March 15, 2016, 36-year-old Anderson was shot to death in an apartment on Gilman Street.
• Bryan Garcia – Feb. 27, 2017, 35-year-old Garcia is found unresponsive in his car in the West End. The cause of death was not released.
• Sunao Thomas Yamada Jr. – Sept. 10, 2017, the body of 54-year-old Yamada was found near Temple Street. Cause of death was not released.
