SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Maine resident  Airman 1st Class Samuel A. Dunton, graduated from U.S. Air Force Basic Training in San Antonio, Texas recently.

He completed high school at Thornton Academy in Saco and chose to enlist in the Air Force. Dunton is the son of Mark S. Dunton and husband of Lynn M. Brown of Old Orchard Beach.

In the Basic Training at Lackland Joint Base, airmen complete an intensive, eight-week program and throughout the training, they learn military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
