
Among the projects scheduled in Senate District 33, comprised of Cornish, Limerick, Newfield, Parsonsfield, Sanford, Shapleigh, and Waterboro, are safety and infrastructure improvements at the Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport, highway construction and improvements along Route 109 in Sanford, culvert replacement on West Road in Waterboro and paving and drainage maintenance on Elm Street in Parsonsfield.
“I believe that maintaining our infrastructure is one of the most important functions of state government,” Woodsome said. “I would like to thank the Department of Transportation for prioritizing these projects that are vital to our safety and our economic success in York County.”

According to the MDOT, projects and activities listed for calendar year 2018 have the most definite schedules and estimates, while those for calendar years 2019 and 2020 may be more subject to change.
Here is a general list of projects in Senate District 33, along with Acton and Lebanon.
• Acton, 2018: 2.15 miles of paving on Route 109, 5.77 miles of paving on Milton Mills Road and 8.07 miles on Foxes Ridge Road extending into Lebanon. 2019: Structural work on Heath Bridge on Milton Mills Road. For 2019 and 2020: Another 2.16 miles of rehab on Route 109.
• Cornish, 2018: Engineering for slope stabilization on a portion of Route 25. For 2019: 12.51 miles of paving on Route 160 that also includes parts of Limerick, Parsonsfield and Porter.
• Lebanon, 2018: Structural work on Gristmill Bridge on Little River Road; For 2019: Bridge structural maintenance on Prospect Hill Road. For 2019-2020, Bridge replacement over the Salmon Falls River on New Bridge Road.
• Newfield, 2018: Engineering on Route 11, beginning at Bridge Street.
• Parsonsfield, 2018: Ditching 2 miles along Province Lake Road from Stagecoach Road to the New Hampshire state line, ditching and culvert replacement 4.45 miles along Elm Street, both in preparation for paving in 2019.
• Sanford, 2018: Safety and infrastructure improvements at Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport that may include snow removal equipment building and safety fencing; road rehab of parts of River Street, culvert replacement on Route 202; paving 2.43 miles of Route 11A and more than half a mile along Route 99, paving 6.23 miles along Route 4 that also includes Alfred and the Berwicks; engineering for several intersection improvements. For 2019 and 2020: Highway rehab 4.72 miles along Route 109 that includes Wells; paving along Route 202 that includes Alfred; intersection improvement at School Street and Route 4; highway safety improvements at Route 109 and 4A and at Old Mill Road and 4A and culvert replacement on Route 202 at the Sanford-Alfred town line.
• There were no specific projects listed in Shapleigh. According to the MDOT, the agency provided $66,952 in local road assistance to the community in 2017.
• Waterboro, 2019: Paving 4.6 miles of Route 5, beginning at Route 202. 2019-2020: Culvert replacement on West Road.
